How to Make and Put Braces ^_^

0

Not everyone can place braces because it’s quite difficult. Only the professionals, for example dentist, can place it. However, it’s good for us to know how to place braces. I will tell you the steps how to place braces.

The steps :
  1. Measure and make the mold. The data of measuring the teeth (the width of our jaw etc.) will be used in making thd braces.
  2. Tooth extraction. In this step, if there is a “disturbing tooth” , it will be pulled out. It can be teeth if there are more than a tooth which need to pull out. This process depends on the patient’s teeth condition. If the braces can be put without pulling out any tooth, this stage is not necessary. However, most patients do need this process. And if there are more than a tooth which need to pull out, the process will be done in several times (a tooth in each process).
  3. Putting bracket braces. In this stage, the rubber of the braces is put. This process is quite painful, especially in the first few days.
  4. Control. This stage should be done in two weeks until a month after the third stage. It also can be done if there is a wire or brackets that are dislocated. The cost of the control ranges from IDR 150000 up to IDR 200000. In this stage, the rubber of the braces will be replaced. Most patients will fdel something strange after they control.
  5. Change the bracket. Once the tooth structure has been in proportional shape, the braces will be changed. The wire and the braces will adjust the new structure. Similar with the third stage, the patient will feel pain in the first few days.
  6. Control as usual

There are three things that should be avoided while using the braces :
1. ~ Hard fruits and hard candies
Hard fruits, snacks, nuts, and hard candies should not be consumed. If you want to eat fruit such as apples or pears, it should be cut into small bite. You are also not allowed to eat directly from the fruit. If you want to eat beans, it should be ground first. If you want to eat corn, the cob should be separated first. Sweets should be sucked, not bitten.
2
.
~   ~ Sticky food
Sticky food or candy such as caramels, bubble gum, and chewing gum that can be sticky to the teeth and wire should be avoided because there is a possibility of damaging the wire and the rubber. The leftovers of this kind of food will be more difficult to clean or remove.
3.

    ~ High acidity food
High acidity food such as lemons, lime, and soda can damage the enamel of the teeth and cause discoloration. If you often consume this kind of food, later when braces are removed you will see the difference in the color of the teeth, especially where in the braces are.

History of Braces (˘⌣˘)ʃ‎ ‎

Ancient people want to have a nice and straight teeth , According to the AAO archaeologists find ancient mummies with crude metal bands wrapped around individual teeth. Then , in 400-500 BC, Hippocrates and Aristotle to think about ways to straighten teeth and fix various dental conditions (⌣‾) Straight and nice teeth already in the minds of humans since ancient times not only now ! While in Greece, they bury the bodies of their own with the tools to maintain the room and keep the tooth space bodies could not be separated during their life . There is a man namely George Washington uses his " wooden teeth " , the doctors think how the ways to fix bad teeth .In 1728, French Dentist Pierre Fauchard published a book called "The Surgeon Dentist" with a whole section on ways to straighten teeth . Fauchard used a device called a "Bandeau," a horseshoe-shaped plate of precious metal that helped expand the arch. French Dentist Ettienne Bourdet followed Fauchard in 1757 with his book "The Dentist's Art", also devotes sections to straighten teeth and equipment. Dentist Bourdet was the King of France. He perfected "Bandeau", and also the first dentist (on record) recommended "extraction of premolars to alleviate crowding". He was also the first to scientifically prove jaw growth . And Scottish surgeon, John Hunter also wrote (among other surgical books) "The Natural History of the Human Teeth" in 1771, clearly illustrates the anatomy of the teeth .So he makes his second book again , "A Practical Treatise on the Diseases of Teeth", described dental pathology. Although teeth straightening and extraction to improve alignment of remaining teeth has been practiced since ancient times, orthodontics as a science itself does not really exist until the mid-1800s. In 1819 Delabarre introduced the wire crib, which marked the birth of contemporary orthodontics. The term was created by Joachim Lafoulon orthodontics in 1841. Gum elastics first employed by Maynard in 1843. Tucker was the first time cut the rubber bands from rubber tubing in 1850Eugene Solomon Talbot was the first to use X-rays for orthodontic diagnosis. But all this is nothing compared to advances in orthodontics in the 20th century . In America in the early 1900s, Edward H. Angle designed the first simple classification system for malocclusions, which is still used until today . Classification system is a way for dentists to describe how crooked teeth, crooked teeth in what direction, and how the teeth "fit together" (flat). Angle made significant contributions to the design of orthodontic appliances, include many simplifications . What kind of invisible braces century ago? In the early 1900s, orthodontists use gold, platinum, silver, steel, gum rubber, vulcanite (and sometimes, wood, ivory, zinc, copper, and brass) to form loops, hooks, spurs, and ligatures. Fourteen to eighteen  karat gold has been routinely used for wires, bands, clasps, ligatures, and spurs, as well as iridium platinum bands and arch wires, and platinized Gold for brackets. Why gold? Because gold soft and malleable. Gold has shortcomings, but because of the softness of gold, gold is needed for periodic adjustments, and it was expensive! Anyway, you guessed it, these bands wrapped around each of each tooth. "Metal mouth" of the original real gold or silver! How's that for bling? In 1929, a special board of the first tooth, the American Board of Orthodontics, is born. In addition, the first synthetic (nylon)-bristle toothbrush was invented in 1938. At this time, stainless steel became widely available, but their use for braces is considered somewhat controversial. In addition, you may be surprised to know that x-rays are not routinely used in orthodontic treatment until the 1950's ! Dental braces continue wrapping until the mid 1970's when the direct bonding a reality. Why does it take so long for the dentist to create a modern bonded bracket? Brackets bonded actually been discovered before, but it's specially formulated adhesive is not perfect until nearly a decade later. At first, bonded bracket is (of course) made of metal. As new methods, it took a while for the direct bond bracket to "catch on". Around the year 1975, two orthodontists working independently in Japan and the United States began to develop their own systems to place braces on the inner surface of teeth - lingual braces. "invisible braces" It offers people the results of brackets bonded with one big advantage, they were in the tooth, so that no one else can see it In America, the late Dr. Craven Kurz Kurz Beverly Hills California developed / Ormco lingual system. In Japan, Professor Kinya Fujita, from Kanagawa Dental University found the language system itself, and continues to make great progress in lingual method.
